Method Of Preparing & Cooking Your Sesame Glazed Chicken:
To begin, turn on your air fryer to a high temp and grab a large mixing bowl along with a couple of plates.
In the bowl add the two eggs and whisk gently. On one of the plates add your corn flower and on the last plate place your flour, sumac, pepper, Shanghai 5 spice seasoning and paprika together and mix so that all the ingredients become one.
Dry off your chicken using some kitchen roll and then begin to dredge them firstly in the cornflour, then the egg mix and finally the combined seasoning with flour mix. Set aside for 5 minutes.
Place the chicken pieces into the air fryer and spray them with the fry light spray. Cook on a high heat until thoroughly cooked - approximately 15 to 20 minutes, but please check your air fryer guidelines for the correct temperature and timing.
In the meantime, heat a wok on your stove and add to it the garlic cloves (chopped finely) with a few squirts of fry light spray oil. Add all other sauce ingredients to the wok and turn heat down to medium. Mix so that all of the ingredients are combined. Cook until the sauce reduces by about a third (should take 2-3 minutes).
Once cooked remove from the air fryer and dry on kitchen paper (there should not be a great amount of residual oil). Add the chicken back to the wok which contains the sauce ingredients and gently cook whilst you prepare your rice.
When both dishes have cooked thoroughly turn the heat off. Plate your rice first (draining the excess water away) followed by the Chinese chicken. Top the dish with a liberal sprinkling of sesame seeds and the chopped spring onions.
Lastly serve your healthy Crispy Sesame Seed Chinese Chicken and enjoy!
